Hip Bath (Naturopathy Treatment)

A hip bath, also known as a sitz bath, is a therapeutic soaking of the pelvic and hip area in water (cold, warm, hot, or alternating) to improve circulation, relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and aid conditions like hemorrhoids, postpartum recovery, urinary issues, and menstrual problems, using either a special tub or a device that fits over a toilet.

A hip bath, also known as a sitz bath, is a natural therapy commonly used in naturopathy and traditional health practices. In this method, only the lower part of the body, from the navel to the hips, is immersed in water while the upper body remains dry. This therapy helps in improving circulation and relieving various health problems related to the abdomen and pelvic region. There are three main types of hip baths: cold hip bath, hot hip bath, and neutral hip bath. A cold hip bath uses cool water and is helpful in reducing inflammation, constipation, piles, and digestive problems. A hot hip bath uses warm water and is beneficial for relieving pain, muscle stiffness, menstrual discomfort, and urinary problems. A neutral hip bath uses normal temperature water and is mainly used for relaxation and stress relief.
